HARD is an X-band 3D search and acquisition radar designed for integration in short-range Air Defence Systems. The small size and low weight make it easy to integrate in vehicles of all kinds as well as stand-alone.
With a high tracking accuracy in range, azimuth and elevation, it can designate any Air Defence Weapon System, assuring short reaction time also when a Narrow Field of View sight is used. The short reaction time for target acquisition and high tracking accuracy associated with HARD is achieved by the unique combination of a high antenna revolution rate and a priority-driven beam elevation control.
The HARD outstanding ECCM and Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) characteristics are achieved by low peak power and with an advanced transmission pattern including agility of both beam position and frequency. This provides efficient protection against enemy detection, jamming and Anti- Radiation Missiles.
HARD is a small and versatile 3D radar. It is designed for integration in light-weight Short-Range Air Defence (SHORAD) or Very Short-Range Air Defence (VSHORAD) systems for surveillance and target acquisition. By providing accurate and timely target data, it can significantly increase the effectiveness of the weapon system.
Due to its small size, low weight and low power requirements, in combination with excellent performance, HARD is a preferred candidate for use in equipment for rapid deployment forces.
