Feature and Object Extractor - FOX
FOX is a high-performance and cost-effective radar extractor for many types of radar stations, presentation devices and processing systems. It is currently used for Coastal Surveillance, Gunnery Range Surveillance and Air Surveillance.
Plot extraction
Employing an advanced clutter map filtering algorithm to the incoming radar video provides excellent detection performance and keeps false alarms to a minimum. The filter automatically adapts to local clutter variations in order to maximize detection performance over the complete radar image. Several clutter properties are measured, enabling effective counter measures.
Moving objects are automatically separated from static objects, very useful in marine applications where small boats may otherwise disappear when close to land.
Detected plots are closely examined and a number of features are measured and calculated, serving as a ground for classification.
Target classification
Knowledge-based data processing is used for classification. With the aid of a skilled radar operator a number of typical targets are pointed out and FOX can later automatically deduce what a target actually represents. This information is included in the output reports, which is very helpful when interpreting the data.
